Branson Veterans of America 913
The Branson Veterans of America 913 has established the following criteria for administering and awarding the William Groninger Scholarship:
Two individual scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded by the Branson Veterans of America 913 to provide assistance to deserving applicants.
The Following limitations are established:
The awards are considered for only those applicants who will be enrolling in a post-secondary institution; university, 4-year college, junior college, vocational tech, or trade school. The applicant must be intent on pursuing a course toward an associate, baccalaureate degree, or certificate of completion. The award is a one-time award, non-renewable award. Applicants must have/had a relative living or deceased in the Military. Applicants must be a senior enrolled in a Stone or Taney County school.
The application and supporting documents must be submitted and postmarked by February 25, 2026. Applications received after cut off date will not be considered. The complete application must include, in addition to the application form, the items listed below:
- A typed essay with a minimum of 500 words titled
- "What the 250th Anniversary of Our Country Means To Me".
- A letter of acceptance from the institution for the applicant or list of applications pending--award will not be made until acceptance has been verified
A transcript of high school credits through the first semester of the senior year.
The award check will be sent directly to the winner's post-secondary institution upon confirmation of the student's enrollment and attendance. The applicant must provide the name and address of the institution.
Applications will be evaluated on March 7, 2026, by the Scholarship Committee.
The top ten applicants will be notified on March 21, 2026.
Selected applicants will be required to interview with the Scholarship Committee on March 28, 2026, for a final selection.
Winners will be notified by April 11, 2026.
Award will be presented on April 27, 2026 at the BVA 913 meeting, (and at the student's school honor assembly upon receiving the date and time).
Winners MUST be available for April 27, 2026 BVA 913 Meeting.
