The P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship is an up to $1,000.00 financial award given annually to one high school senior with a verified financial need, a verified language-related learning difference, visual arts talent, acceptance to an accredited four-year college or university or two-year community college, and has the intent to pursue a career in a visual arts field. Art classes must be taken each semester to continue the award renewal. The amount of the award varies from year to year, because it is based on interest earned on the funds in the account.

This scholarship focuses on students with languagerelated learning differences. Disabilities in specific language processing, including but not limited to dyslexia, written expression, reading comprehension, central auditory processing, visual perception, word recognition, and sequencing. Verification of such diagnosis must be provided by a case manager or counselor. Deaf and blind students are not eligible for this scholarship. Students with ADD or ADHD alone are not eligible. This focus helps in being able to assess the student's disabilities and how they have dealt with them.

The visual arts are art forms that create works which are primarily visual in nature, such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, printmaking, and photography. Students in the performing arts are not eligible for this scholarship. Performing arts include dance, music, opera, drama, spoken word and circus arts. Filmmaking is only allowed if the student was the main creative force behind the projects; such as the director. If the student was acting in someone else's film, they are not eligible. Applied arts are also not eligible. Applied arts include industrial design, graphic design, fashion design, and interior design.
