SWE Scholarships support those who identify as a woman and pursue an ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student program in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and fields related to engineering globally. In 2023, SWE disbursed over 330 new and renewed scholarships valued at more than $1,500,000!
SWE now offers scholarships in India! These SWE scholarships support students that identify as women and are enrolled in either a SWE India Affiliate school or Washington Accord-accredited program, and are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in engineering, engineering technology, or fields related to engineering.
For all SWE scholarships, applicants complete one application and are considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.
2024-2025 Academic Year Scholarship Applications:
ABET Upperclass (rising sophomore, junior, senior undergraduates and all graduate students): December 1, 2023 – January 31, 2024
ABET Incoming Freshmen (any incoming first year students): February 2, 2024 – March 31, 2024
India (all undergraduate or graduate students at select schools): December 1, 2023 – January 23, 2024

Who is eligible? You’re eligible if you are:
- A person who identifies as a woman
- An incoming freshman through graduate student
- Studying engineering full-time (exceptions made for re-entry/non-traditional students)
- Enrolled in an ABET-accredited program OR Enrolled in a Washington Accord accredited program in Tamil Nadu or Maharashtra, India
- A community college, university, or re-rentry/non-traditional student
