Minnesota Power Community Involvement Scholarship
Minnesota Power Community Involvement Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance for graduating high school seniors within Minnesota Power's service area who are active volunteers in their communities.
Application Instructions
Seniors who Are full time high school seniors; Reside in the Minnesota Power service area and Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher are welcome to apply. Interested students should complete & submit the Minnesota Power Community Involvement Scholarship Application by January 15th. A complete application will include the application form, supporting documentation from community leaders, reports on any volunteer activities and a high school transcript.
Selection Criteria
The Scholarship Committee of the Community Foundation will select individual scholarship recipients. Members of the committee are totally independent and separate from Minnesota Power, and no employee or former employee will select scholarship recipients. The committee will base their decision on the applicant's community involvement.
Awards Given from Fund
Ten scholarships (of $2500/year), co-payable to the student and institution will be awarded starting with the 2016 year. Generally, this annual award is divided into two installments - half for fall, half for spring. It is not renewable.
