The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley is proud to hold six active scholarship funds dedicated to furthering the academic goals of high school students in the Gunnison Valley.

The 2025 CFGV Common Scholarship Application opens on January 31. To begin your application, visit https://cfgv.smapply.org and create an account (email address and password). You will receive a confirmation email from SurveyMonkey Apply prompting you to follow a link in order to login.

Once logged in, choose 2026 CFGV Common Scholarship Application from the tiles on the homepage to begin your application. Carefully read the descriptions of the available scholarships before selecting which one(s) you want to apply for. Familiarize yourself with the required components of the application (checklist provided below). You can complete the application parts and uploads in any order you wish.

TIP: You will see a Save & Continue Editing button and Next button at the bottom of the page when you complete each section of the application parts. Save & Continue Editing will simply save the page while you’re working. Next will save your work and take you to the next application section. Mark as complete will complete the application part, but once you mark an application part complete, you will not be able to go back and edit it! Use the page tree on the left to navigate between the application and uploads. Be sure to hit SUBMIT once everything is completed!

Application Checklist:

  • Complete CFGV Common Scholarship Application Part I (contact information)
  • Complete CFGV Common Scholarship Application Part II (narrative questions, household financial information, personal statements, etc.)
  • Complete CFGV Common Scholarship Application Part III (verifications and signatures)
  • Upload a one-page essay about your involvement in the community
  • Request or Upload a Letter of Recommendation from a Teacher or Counselor
  • Request or Upload a Letter of Recommendation from a Community Member
  • Request that your school guidance counselor email your official transcript to alicia@cfgv.org by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026
