Lacombe is located within Central Alberta, Canada. It is between the Rocky Mountains and the Alberta Prairie, and is named by Albert Lacombe, a Roman Catholic Father. Father Lacombe was a missionary who lived and evangelized Blackfoot and Crees First National of western Canada. He is also famous for acting as a "peace" middleman among the Cree and Blackfoot.

Lacombe offers various recreational activities meant for indoor and outdoor fans.In the year 1994, Lacombe hosted the Alberta Senior Games, that helped it develop excellent recreational facilities. All over the community, there is an auditorium, meeting rooms, and multipurpose community centre, curling rink, indoor swimming pool, twin arenas, eight soccer pitches, tennis courts and roughly 16 ball diamonds.
