Fresno is a city situated centrally in the state of California in the USA. Based on the Census of 2010, the city had a population of 510,365 making it the biggest inland city in the state, the fifth biggest city in the state of California and the 34th biggest city in the States. The city of Fresno is located 274 km or 170 miles south of Sacramento, the state capital, and 322 km or 200 miles north of the city of Los Angeles. The population of the city is around 1,107,416. The name Fresno came from the Spanish language word that translates to ash tree. Because of this, the flag of the city of Fresno features an ash leaf.

At present, Fresno is one of the 40 most densely inhabited cities within the country. The city has a rapidly growing metro area with an estimated population of 430,000 residents. The three billion dollar agriculture business in Fresno County makes it the top county for agriculture in the USA. Some of the main crops are cotton, lettuce, grapes and tomatoes. The city of Fresno has more than 250 crops.
