The city is so stunning that a lot of popular songwriters and singers have referenced it in their songs. A few popular songs that pull their inspiration from Huntington beach are "Surfin' Safari" by the Beach Boys and "Surfer Joe" by the Surfaris. Dean Torrench, from the 1960's band Jan and Dean, said that their song "Surf City" was represented by Huntington Beach since it "embodies the song's spirit of freedom and California fun."

Amongst the safest and cleanest beaches within California are found here in Huntington Beach. The cool waters of the Pacific along with the endless sunshine, makes it terrific for both surfers and beachgoers. The dress code around town is really informal, with bikinis, sandals and wetsuits being the norm.
