Huntington Beach symbolizes the ideal California way of life. With its 8.5 miles of beautiful climate and stunning beach, this "Surf City" is perfect for people who long for relaxation. The city is located within Southern California in Orange County, with Los Angeles being 35 miles north and San Diego 90 miles south. It was named after Henry Huntington, a railroad entrepreneur, who initialized the improvement of the city.

The city is so stunning that a lot of popular songwriters and singers have referenced it in their songs. A few popular songs that pull their inspiration from Huntington beach are "Surfin' Safari" by the Beach Boys and "Surfer Joe" by the Surfaris. Dean Torrench, from the 1960's band Jan and Dean, said that their song "Surf City" was represented by Huntington Beach since it "embodies the song's spirit of freedom and California fun."

Amongst the safest and cleanest beaches within California are found here in Huntington Beach. The cool waters of the Pacific along with the endless sunshine, makes it terrific for both surfers and beachgoers. The dress code around town is really informal, with bikinis, sandals and wetsuits being the norm.

Huntington Beach was voted the best place to live in Orange County, by the Orange County Register readers. The city offers numerous types of housing to suit whichever income type and has a marvelous education system. The city guarantees that all of its amenities, like several parks and boat marinas, are well-kept and kept clean.

Tourism and Technology are the two main industries within Huntington Beach. Situated in the city, there are more than 650 industrial businesses currently. Among the big names which have chosen Huntington Beach as home are Boeing, C & D Aerospace, Cambro Manufacturing, and Quicksilver. There is an collection of jobs available in the city.

The city itself is located above a natural salt dome. In this salt dome was a reservoir of oil, but through the years it has depleted significantly. Presently, oil production counts for a considerable portion of the local income. There are a total of two offshore extraction facilities left, but in time tourism has to become the main income source for the city.
