Gilbert is a town situated within Maricopa County, Arizona. The community is in the Phoenix metropolitan area and is situated just southeast of Phoenix. The city of Gilbert encompasses approximately 197 km2 or 76 square miles. It has made the rapid transformation in recent years from being a community based on agriculture to a suburban centre that is economically diverse.
The city of Gilbert has increased it population quite significantly in the past couple of decades. The 1980 population of the city of Gilbert was 5,717 residents, growing to a huge 208,453 residents, according to 2010 census numbers.
