Calgary is the biggest city in the Province of Alberta, Canada. It is located within the south of the province, around eighty km east of the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies. Calgary is considered a metropolitan city which continues to retain its conventional culture of hockey, football, night clubs, bars, and hotel saloons. Gas and oil are the biggest contributors to Calgary's GDP, as the city is home to large oil companies, including BP, EnCana, Suncor Energy, Imperial Oil, Shell Canada, and TransCanada.
