Regina was founded in 1882 and became well-known during the North-West Rebellion period, when troops were transported by train before they marched to the front line. What's more, the rebellion's leader named Louie Riel was hanged in Regina. Regina was incorporated as a city on the 9th of June, the year 1903 and was declared the capital of the Saskatchewan province by the first provincial government.
