The city of Sarnia is a smaller city situated on the south shore of the Great Lake, Lake Huron. This southern Ontario city has an approximate population of 70,000 individuals. It is nonetheless, the largest city on Lake Huron and the largest within Lambton County.

The city has always been popular for its entertainment and sports attractions and events. From professional to amateur sporting events, sports tournaments, horse racing, fishing, cross county skiing, skating to live theater, cultural events, casinos and concerts - the city of Sarnia has always got something for the sports fans and for everybody's entertainment. Most prominent among these highlights consist of: Imperial Theater: reconstructed as a theatre meant for live performances, it showcases different entertainment all year round; Hiawatha Horse Park & Entertainment Centre: a first-class casino and racing track with more than 400 slots; Point Edward Charity Casino: features 490 slots and thirty eight gaming tables that offer different games, like Progressive Blackjack, Pai Gow poker, poker, Caribbean Stud, and Roulette; and Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre: amongst Ontario's major sites for all year round sporting and entertainment events.

Additionally, Sarnia's waterfront is the site for various festivals and activities which offer a wide range of entertainment for everybody. This development in the city's waterfront was prompted by the Waterfront Program, mandating the enablement, development, and the promotion of programs along the waterfront for the enjoyment of the community and its visitors. Various activities and festivals have been held at the waterfront ever since its inception, like Kids Funfest, the Sarnia Bayfest and the yearly Hobbyfest.

Lambton and Sarnia County's rich history have also been distinct attractions in their own right. Found in the city are some heritage sites and museums which provide its visitors a glimpse into the past, such as the Lambton Heritage Museum, the historic and literary Uncle Tom's Cabin, or the Oil Museum of Canada, where visitors could view original oil wells dug in the 1850's or catch a glance of the progression of oil production within North America.

Although being known as a prime tourist spot, the city of Sarnia is likewise a great place for establishing a company and for those new industries that are seeking a strategic site advantage. The economy of the county and city is quite diverse, with lots of top companies in synthetic rubber, chemical production, and various oil-based products. Some major refining and petrochemical facilities are found in the city, like for example those operated by Dow Chemical, Amoco, Imperial Oil/Esso, Nova Chemicals, Cabot Canada, Bayer Rubber and Suncor. Shell Canada, Montell Polyolefins, Ethyl Corporation and Terra International have facilities located south of Sarnia City.
