The city of Toledo spawned many large auto parts businesses, like Electric AutoLite, Questor, Champion Spark Plug and Dana Corporation. The world-renowned Jeep vehicles have been built in Toledo City ever since the year 1941.

The best known attractions in the city is maybe the Toledo Museum of Art, that is the site of the Glass Pavilion. This incredible structure houses many collections of priceless glass art. Among the biggest and most popular zoo's within the area is the Toledo Zoo, which is famous for its hippoquarium. The Center of Science and Industry (COSI) provides a hands-on science museum with both traveling and permanent exhibits for education and fun. Cultural offerings comprise the Toledo Ballet, Toledo Symphony and the Toledo Opera. Toledo's century-old Valentine Theater is at the heart of the city's downtown rejuvenation project and is still in operation.

The City of Toledo boasts more than 100 parks with plentiful chances for outdoor activities. The Maumee River flows through the city of Toledo and is a popular fishing place. Boating is a favorite activity on the river and on Lake Erie.
