Beavercreek is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Area, and is the second largest suburb of Dayton. Located within Greene County, Ohio, United States, Beavercreek has a population of about 45,193.

The region currently called Beavercreek was inhabited by Europeans early in the 19th century. Part of Beavercreek Town was incorporated in 1979. During the year 1980, the City of Beavercreek was incorporated. The region encompasses Apple Valley, Big Beaver Valley, Knollwood, Indian Ripple, New Germany, Zimmermanville, Spicer and the village of Alpha.

Beavercreek has a strong economic foundation built on research and manufacturing firms engaged in aerospace, automotive components, defense technologies and electronics. A main employer for Beavercreek region residents is the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, a major administrative command, research and support services facility. A lot of residents are civilian and current or former Air Force workers of the base and its defense industry contractors. Currently the highest-ranking woman in the United States Air Force (as of the year 2010) is a graduate of Beavercreek High School, Lieutenant General Janet C. Wolfenbarger, existing Vice Commander, Air Force Material Command.

The city of Beavercreek has a total area of 68.3 square kilometers. The land is characterized by rolling woods and many attractive neighborhoods. The city of Beavercreek is one of the most desirable locations within the Dayton region. The city of Beavercreek ranked 84th in Money's Top 100 places to live in the US. This is due to its excellent quality of life. This fast growing suburb, Beavercreek's residential development varies from exclusive neighborhoods of custom-built homes to charming older neighborhoods. There is room for the city of Beavercreek to grow with many unincorporated adjacent areas and undeveloped properties which can be annexed in the future.

The Greene Town Center and the Fairfield Commons are the city's two main shopping centers. The Fairfield Commons mall has 130 specialty shops and five department stores. The mall anchors other service, shopping and dining opportunities for residents. There are many neighborhood shopping areas located all over Beavercreek. The city has a public golf course (Beavercreek Golf Club) and a private golf course (The Country Club of the North).

The city could be reached by Columbus and Cincinnati through the I-675, which provides the west and north edge of town providing convenient access. U.S. 35 provides expressway access to the city of Beavercreek from downtown Dayton and Dayton International Airport.
