Minneapolis, Minnesota serves as the county seat of the county of Hennepin and has been known as "Mill City" and "City of Lakes." The City of Minneapolis is the nation's 48th largest city and is the biggest city in the State of Minnesota. The name is derived from the region's very first schoolteacher.
