The city of Davenport, Iowa is situated in the states Scott County. Located along the Mississippi River, the city of Davenport serves as the largest city and county seat of Scott County. On the 14th of May, 1836 Antoine LeClaire established Davenport. He name the city for George Davenport, his friend who was a colonel in the Black Hawk War and was stationed nearby within Fort Armstrong.

The population of Davenport is approaching 100,000 people based on 2010 census numbers. At present, it is the 3rd biggest city within Iowa. During the year 2011, Bill Gluba the city mayor declared the city of Davenport the biggest of the Quad Cities.
