Please read the scholarship requirements thoroughly to determine eligibility to apply for the following scholarships:

Women-In-Transition Scholarship - This scholarship is designated for a woman who is the primary source of support for her family and is enrolling as an incoming freshman to earn a bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in accounting.

  • Bachelor’s degree - Awarded for $8,000 over two years for those enrolled in a four-year college or university as determined by the Board of Trustees
  • Associate’s degree – Awarded for $4,000 over two years for those enrolled in a two-year college as determined by the Board of Trustees

The Women-In-Transition scholarship will be renewed for a second year upon completion of satisfactory course work as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA. The recipient must be enrolled in an accredited school in the United States.

Women-In-Need Scholarship - This scholarship is designated for a woman who is the primary source of support for her family and is completing her sophomore year of academic pursuit to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting. The scholarship is awarded for $10,000 over two years for those enrolled in a four-year college or university as determined by the Board of Trustee. The Women-In-Need scholarship will be renewed for the second year upon completion of satisfactory course work as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA. The recipient must be enrolled in an accredited school in the United States.

Institute of Management Accountants IMA Undergraduate Scholarships - IMA is funding two one-year undergraduate scholarships in the amounts of $1,500 and $2,000 each for women who are working toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in an accredited school in the United States. In addition to the cash award, recipients will receive a complimentary one-year student membership to the IMA (a $39 value), the CMA exam entrance fee (a $250 value), as well as the exam registration fee (valued at $415 per part). The CMA exam entrance and registration fees have a two-year time limit and are non-transferrable.

EFWA Undergraduate Scholarships – EFWA is funding three one-year undergraduate scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each for women who are working towards a bachelor’s degree while attending an accredited school in the United States. Recipients can be incoming freshmen or women returning to school pursuing degrees.

EFWA Global Undergraduate Scholarship – EFWA is funding one one-year undergraduate global scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to a non-U.S. citizen working towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting while attending an accredited school in the United States. The recipient can be an incoming freshman or a woman returning to school pursuing a degree.

American Dream Scholarship – This scholarship is funding a one-year undergraduate scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for a woman who is attending a two-year community college and has aspirations towards transferring to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in accounting. This scholarship is intended to offer an opportunity to provide financial and mentoring support primarily for individuals from the Black, Latinx, and Native populations. Eligibility for the American Dream scholarship is not exclusionary on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, national and ethnic origin, disability, veteran status, socioeconomic background, or sexual orientation. Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents.

Selection Criteria

  • Female U.S. citizens, except for the EFWA Global Scholarship, attending accredited schools in the United States pursuing an accounting degree.
  • Commitment to the goal of pursuing a degree in accounting in preparation for a career as an accounting or finance professional, including evidence of continued commitment to this goal after receiving the award.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in accounting and business as evidenced by prior course work and/or work experience.
  • Clear evidence that goals and a plan for achieving those goals, both personal and professional, have been established.
  • Financial need
  • Scholarship recipients will be selected by May 31.
