Applicant Eligibility Requirements
The following criteria must be met in order to apply for award:
- Applicant must be admitted to an accredited paralegal program at a University, College, Community College, or Business College located in Nebraska.
- Applicant must have completed one academic term, and be currently enrolled as a paralegal student.
Application Procedure
Each applicant must complete each of the following procedures to apply for an award:
- Each applicant shall submit a resume with current contact information including mailing address;
- Each applicant shall submit an official transcript of grades earned in the program to date;
- Each applicant shall provide one letter of recommendation from a program director, instructor, or employer. No family member of the applicant may submit a letter of recommendation for the applicant;
- Each applicant shall provide an essay of at least one page in length that describes the applicant's education and career goals and how award funds will be used to help achieve goals (example - tuition; books, equipment); and
- A personal interview or additional documents may be required at the discretion of the Award Committee.
All required documentation is to be submitted together.

Any application postmarked after the award application deadline will be disqualified. Incomplete applications will not be eligible for consideration. Only one award will be given per recipient. The essay submitted with this Application becomes the property of NePA, and the essay may be reproduced for publication and publicity purposes. Faxes will not be accepted.
Award Announcement
Announcement of award(s) shall be made in writing to recipients no later than sixty (60) working days following the award application deadline. Applicants not selected for an award shall receive written notice of the same on or before the announcement deadline. Public recognition and announcement of the recipient(s) name shall be made at the next NePA Luncheon Meeting and at the General Meeting of the Members, and in public notices at the discretion of the award committee.
Payment of Award
Payment of the award shall be made directly to the recipient by June 1, 2025.
