The New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSH&TA) officially incorporated its scholarship fund into an Education Foundation in 1999, and is now called the Fred and Gertrude England Hospitality Education Foundation. Its mission is to assist in the educational development of hospitality students by offering individual scholarships to member employees and/or their dependents.
Scholarship Information
AWARD AMOUNT
A) Full-time students receive $1,500 per semester for a maximum of $6,000.
B) Full-time students entering their senior year receive $1,500 per semester for a maximum of $3,000.
C) Part-time students receive $750 per semester for a maximum of $6,000.
Louis N. Ventresca Scholarship
The Louis N. Ventresca Scholarship Award is named after the Foundation's first Chairman of the Board, Louis N. Ventresca, and is recognized with additional funds.
A) Full-time students receive $1,750 per semester for a maximum of $7,000.
B) Part-time students receive $875 per semester for a maximum of $7,000.
C) Scholarship payments begin the semester following the formal presentation of the awards and are paid directly to the educational institution.
ELIGIBILITY
A) Scholarships are available to employees OR dependents of employees of a NYSH&TA member property.
B) Students must have completed 15 college credits.
C) Students must be majoring in the hospitality field.
D) Students must maintain a minimum of a 2.50 grade point average (GPA).

STEP 2: Provide a one to two page letter of Personal Description and Intent
STEP 3: Provide three Letters of Recommendation (one must be from a NYSH&TA member).
STEP 4: Provide Current Transcripts or have them forwarded by your educational institution.
