A scholarship is awarded to a student with high academic standing who is entering UVic directly from a secondary school or college in Northern British Columbia or the Peace River district of Alberta and intends to pursue a degree in a program offered in the Faculty of Science. The assessment of secondary school applicants will be based on secondary school performance. The assessment of college applicants will be based on college course results.
To be eligible for the online entrance/transfer scholarships students must normally:
A) Be entering UVic directly from a Canadian secondary school, including international students who are completing a Canadian secondary diploma
B) Be a Canadian citizen studying grade 12 outside of Canada
C) Be a secondary school graduate – entering UVic within two years of graduation and have not attended another post secondary institution
D) Have an 85% admission average or 32 IB points (secondary school students)
E) Be entering UVic directly from a Canadian college or university
F) Have a 7.5/9.0 (UVic scale) transfer average or an 8.0/9.0 Diploma transfer average
