For students who are entering during a Winter or Summer term, please see Current Undergraduate Students and Applying for Bursaries websites.
Entrance Awards/Scholarships
The 2026/2027 Dalhousie General Entrance Awards/Scholarships program will close for submissions on February 15, 2026, 11:59pm (AT).
If you’re applying to Dalhousie directly from high school (or have not completed any other transferable post-secondary study), please complete the General Entrance Award application after you have submitted your application in the Application Portal to be considered for the majority of entrance awards and bursaries available. These are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need and cultural identity. Please note, a small number of awards do require a separate application, that can be completed after you apply.
Are you eligible?
Generally, students need an 80% admission average or 26 predicted/anticipated IB Diploma points to be considered. Averages are calculated using the five courses that are required for the program that the student has applied for. Both domestic and international students are eligible to apply. For the First Nations and Indigenous Black Student (FNIB) Scholarships, the admissions average is not taken into consideration.
Visit our Entrance Award FAQ for answers to the most common questions about the General Entrance Award program.
How to apply
To be considered for the General Entrance Award program, students must complete the application and submit any additional documents before the deadline.
