The Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation is excited to launch our Citizenship Award and Scholarship Program for 2026!
The Program has been refreshed and expanded, thanks to the generosity of our donors. It celebrates Ontario students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and positive community impact, and is open to those entering high school (Grade 8) or beginning post-secondary studies (Grade 12) in Fall 2026.
Applicant Eligibility
Hold Canadian citizenship, permanent resident, landed immigrant, or refugee status.
Grade 8 Applicants: Must be enrolled in Grade 8 as of January 1, 2026
Grade 12 Applicants: Must be enrolled in Grade 12 as of January 1, 2026
Successful applicants will demonstrate meaningful and positive contributions to society through good citizenship, including volunteerism, community service, character-building initiatives, and/or involvement in humanitarian causes.
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
1. Character & Leadership - Exemplifies the Future Aces Creed in their school and community
2. Academic - Demonstrates responsible study habits, a positive attitude, and continuous improvement.
3. Service - Actively contributes through volunteerism at school and/or within the broader community.
Financial need is also taken into consideration.
Nomination & Application Requirements
Each school may nominate up to 2 students per grade (Grade 8 & Grade 12). All nominations must be submitted by a school staff member.
To nominate a student, schools must meet at least one of the following criteria:
1. Register for and participate in Future Aces educational programming (modules)
2. Participate in a Future Aces workshop
3. Operate a Future Aces Club within the school
4. Register for and attend the Future Aces Leadership Symposium (elementary) or Leadership Conference (secondary)

Student Application
Nominated students must complete the official application form, including a personal essay.
Applicants may submit their essay in the format that best expresses their voice and perspective:
Written: 250 words
Audio or Video: 5-7 minutes
All submissions must reflect the student’s own words, ideas, and experiences. We value authenticity, creativity, and individual perspectives.
Essay Topics
The personal essay should address the following:
1. What the Future Aces Creed means to you and why it matters.
2. How you live the Creed through your actions, habits and experiences.
3. How receiving this scholarship would help you advance and promote the Creed in your future goals.
Scholarship Awards
Grade 8 Award: $250
Grade 12 Award: $1,000
Winners will receive:
- A financial scholarship award
- A printed certificate for display at their school
- Photo and biography featured on the Future Aces Foundation website (Scholarship page)
Finalists will receive:
- Name, photo and school recognition on the Future Aces Foundation website
