NYGFOA understands the financial challenges placed on government finance officers to secure funding to attend training programs. As such the Association provides up to five annual Professional Development Scholarships to individuals wishing to attend the NYGFOA 2025 Annual Conference (April 2-4) at the Albany Marriott, Albany who have not be able to attend the conference in the past. Each scholarship covers the cost of Annual Conference registration plus two nights at the conference hotel. There will be one scholarship per NYGFOA geographic region. In the event there are no eligible applicants from a region, the scholarship committee may opt to allocate the available awards to applicants from other regions.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicant must be a NYGFOA public sector member in good standing (dues must be current at time of application and upon receipt of award)
- Applicant must be someone who has been unable to attend the annual conference in the past due to budget constraints.
- Applications will also be accepted from individuals who have attended in the past but have extenuating circumstances prohibiting them from attending the upcoming Annual Conference. Please include the explanation regarding your circumstance in your personal statement (see #2).
