All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Resident of Georgia (provide photo or scan of Georgia driver's license or other evidence of GA residency)
- GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in prior educational work (verified by electronic transcript of current cumulative GPA)
- All non-RN applicants must have completed one year of study (as evidenced by above verifications)
- Provide two letters of reference that indicate leadership, scholarship, and potential for success in the practice of nursing (letters must be signed with verified e-signature or hand-signed and scanned).
Priority will be given to applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in a Georgia school, college, or university
- Member of a professional nursing or student organization/association (provide photo or scan of membership card or other documentation)
- Graduate-level post-licensure student for Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship
- ADN, BSN, or pre-licensure entry-level Master's student for Lucy Willard and Sarah Helen Killgore Scholarships
- One-page essay:
- Identifies professional goals.
- Defines a 5-year plan.
- Describes contributions for advancing nursing practice and healthcare services.
- Describes plan for addressing social determinants of health and health inequities.
- Describes the role of nurses in improving health care access and quality.

- Completed 2025-2026 Scholarship Application must be received by November 15, 2025.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selection process:
- Selection will be based upon compliance with basic eligibility requirements set forth by the Georgia Association for Nursing Education.
- Applicants selected by the Scholarship Committee will be confirmed by the Board of Directors for GANE.
- Scholarships will be awarded to recipients on Saturday February 14, 2026 during the 2026 GANE conference which will be held at The Ritz Carlton Reynolds Resort at Lake Oconee, near Greensboro, GA.
