ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR GENERAL AND DESIGNATED FUND SCHOLARSHIPS

FEMALE STUDENT AND A US CITIZEN

  • Meet age requirements for specific scholarship or grant (if any).
  • A resident of Washington State for one or more years.
  • Officially accepted into a program or course of study of an accredited school in Washington State, or enrolled in an online accredited program accepted as a Washington State Education institution.
  • Demonstrate scholastic ability.
  • Be in need of financial assistance.
  • Submit a copy of official transcript of grades.
  • Complete all pages of the application form and include all required additional documentation.

Deadline: Must be received by May 1, 2026. Address listed on application.

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

A completed application and all required supporting documents must be submitted together. If applying for multiple scholarships make sure to include all additional requirements for the individual scholarship after the SCHOLARSHIP title.

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Mature Woman Educational Scholarship ($3,000.00)

Scholarships offered to women age 30+ (by March 15) for retraining or continuing education.

Single Parent Scholarship ($3,000.00)

Offered to a single woman, any age, planning to return to school or to continue her education beyond the high school level. She must have one or more dependent children, under 18 years of age, living at home.

BPW/WA Past President Memorial Scholarship ($3,000.00)

Awarded to a woman age 30+ (by March 15) in memory of one or more past presidents of Washington State Business and Professional Women.

Lulu Fairbanks Memorial Scholarship ($3,000.00)

A scholarship offered to a woman of any age to an accredited institution of higher education in the state of Washington with no specific program or field of study required. This scholarship is in memory of the first Washington State Business and Professional Women President, Lulu Fairbanks.

Doris Groth Troxel Memorial Scholarship ($2,000.00)

A scholarship offered to a woman of any age to an accredited institution of higher education in the state of Washington with no specific program or field of study required. Doris will be remembered as a highly educated, intelligent and professional lady, who was passionate about education and the environment. She was an active member of the Vancouver Local. It is our honor to offer this scholarship for the first time.

DESIGNATED FUNDS SCHOLARSHIPS

(Funds donated by a local organization, a business, or an individual, most with additional criteria.)

SouthWest Seattle BPW (Eileen Henry Memorial Scholarship) ($1,000.00)

Offered to a mature woman in South King County wishing to continue her higher education.

Margaret Way Scholarship ($1,000.00)

Offered to a woman (aged 18+) accepted at South Seattle College (FIRST preference of school). If a student from South Seattle College can not be identified, another female student attending an accredited school within WA state can be chosen.

Emerald City BPW Foundation Scholarship ($2,000.00)

Offered to a woman living in the Greater Puget Sound area (King, Kitsap, Pierce, or Snohomish Counties) with the following criteria: She will be entering, or continuing, a curriculum at an accredited school, in the field of study that will advance her career goals; be in need of assistance; have demonstrated a high scholastic ability.

South Puget Sound BPW Legacy Scholarship ($1,000.00) Check for offer deadline

Offered to a woman, age 30+, living and planning to attend an accredited school in the Greater Puget Sound area. No restrictions on major of study. (Non-military)

Wenatchee BPW Mature Woman Scholarship ($1,250.00) Check for offer deadline

Offered to a woman, age 25 (at time of application), Washington State resident (at time of application), with High School diploma, or GED Certificate, must be enrolled or accepted into postsecondary professional courses or technical training program.

BPW/WA MEMBER SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (not to exceed a total of $500/quarter)
