Blaze the trail toward your dream career with support from The Jessi Combs Foundation.

This program is designed to remove a portion of the financial burden associated with higher education, one of many barriers that could prohibit women from pursuing a career in the trades.

What makes our scholarship program stand out is the community of support we are building along the way. JCF will leverage an extensive network of industry contacts, sponsors and ‘Friends of the Foundation’ to help applicants and program graduates with the introductions designed to kick-start career opportunities in the trades industry. Most importantly, being awarded a scholarship in Jessi’s name is not the end of the process, it’s the beginning of a lifelong connection to The JCF Family, a growing community comprised of past scholarship recipients and likeminded women inspired by Jessi and everything she stood for.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants at the time of submission must identify as:

  • A woman
  • A high school senior, graduate or GED equivalent
  • Enrolled in or accepted to an accredited vocational school in the United States with a focus on industrial or construction trade related skills. This could include: technical school, 2-year college or other approved vocational institutes

EVALUATION PROCESS AND TIMELINE

The electronic application applicants are required to submit is comprised of two main parts: your personal information (including proof of enrollment) and a video essay.  Both will be evaluated based on eligibility and submitted online through this website. The video essay provides a platform for applicants to demonstrate the ‘human factor’ – the personality, passion, drive and authenticity of the individual.

Applications will be reviewed by The Jessi Combs Foundation Board of Directors and past scholarship recipients; a diverse panel of women and men representing a variety of (male-dominated) industries ranging from 4-wheels to 2-wheels, off-road racing to metal fabrication and more. Some are veterans in their field and worked directly with Jessi while others are newcomers who have recently fought and earned their place in a male-dominated industry and seek to change the landscape for the generation of women behind them. Regardless, all panelists believe in the mission of The Jessi Combs Foundation and are passionate about doing their part to contribute.

Funds will be distributed to a winning applicant on a monthly schedule. Payments are dependent on awardee remaining in good standing with their institution and adherence to ‘The Jessi Combs Foundation Social Contract’ outlined separately.
