Many students have the misconception that kids who go to trade school are either less motivated or not as bright as those who go to college. This cannot be farther from the truth. We want to break the stigmatization that everyone must attend college to succeed. Motivated and intelligent students choose to go to trade schools for various reasons, and we want to explore how we can change this public perception.
At Robert James Trial Attorneys, we strongly believe that trade schools offer an excellent alternative to traditional four-year universities, and we want to encourage students to explore this option. Because of this, we have created the 2023 Trade School Advocacy Scholarship. In a 3-5 minute video or in 750 words, explain why trade school is the better choice for you and how we can eliminate negative perceptions surrounding trade schools.
Eligibility
- The 2023 Trade School Advocacy Scholarship is available to legal residents of the state of Georgia and of the United States who are enrolled in a vocational program or two to four-year post-secondary institution for the Spring 2024 Semester. This includes current high school seniors and current vocational students.
- Employees of Robert James Trial Attorneys, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the competition.
- Please note that applicants located in and around Georgia may receive priority consideration when selecting a winner.
Application Requirements
To apply for the 2023 Trade School Advocacy Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Submit a 3-5 minute video or 750-word essay response to the prompt: “Explain why trade school is the better choice for you and how we can destigmatize trade schools for anyone who may have questions about it.”
- Submit an official transcript from their high school. High school students must also provide proof of acceptance to a trade school. If students are already in a trade school, an unofficial transcript from their current school will be accepted.
We strongly encourage applicants to thoroughly review and proofread their materials before submitting their applications. Incomplete or inaccurate submissions may not be considered for the scholarship.
The recipient of the 2023 Trade School Advocacy Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship, October 31st, 2023.
