We are excited to bring back this scholarship for 2023! At Childers, Schlueter & Smith, we believe that safety should be your town’s number one priority for its residents. Everyone in a community has a right to feel safe inside and outside of their homes. Many of us take safety for gratitude, not realizing the thousands of people living in fear in our community. Raising awareness about city safety is the first step to making lasting change.
We believe that government officials should be focused on improving safety measures. We also believe that there are little things our community can do for one another to help each other feel safer. For the 2023 Safe City Scholarship, we ask students in 750-1000 words to share a safety need in their community and describe actions they and others can take to resolve the issue. Students can reflect on policy changes they want to see implemented and smaller initiatives they have or would like to create in their community.
Through the 2023 Safe City Scholarship, we will award one student $1,000 to help them pursue their education. All majors are welcome to apply. The deadline for this scholarship is October 31st, 2023.
