The successful applicant of this scholarship must be a resident of British Columbia and a student attending university or college in the sciences or related outdoors field.

Only one scholarship will be awarded each year.

All application criteria must be met in order to qualify. (See the list of application criteria below prior to submitting an on-line application.)

The application submissions process is available online only.

The scholarship amount is $1,000.00.

The application submissions deadline for this year's scholarship is: May 28, 2021, 15:00 (Pacific Time). The application page is currently available for access. It is made available in early March of every year and closes at the end of June. Good luck to all applicants!

The final decision will be made and the successful recipient to be notified by June 30, 2021.

Application Criteria

It is recommended that students review the criteria, gather/create all electronic files and return to this website to fill out and submit their application only once they have acquired copies of all mandatory items listed below.

You will not be able to save your online application once it has been started.

A) The Applicant must be a resident of British Columbia

B) The Applicant must be a student attending a university or college in the upcoming Fall term

C) The Applicant must be enrolled in the sciences or related outdoors field (applicant will be asked to list courses he/she intends to study in the upcoming term)

D) The Applicant must currently hold a GPA of 3.50 or 'B' average or better (relevant transcripts for proof of grades must be included with application)

E) The Applicant must show proof, in the form of a reference letter, of his/her participation in outdoors conservation work involving fish, wildlife, or habitat conservation in British Columbia

F) The Applicant must provide a brief essay (maximum 500 words) describing his or her interest in pursuing fish, wildlife and habitat conservation as a part of his/her academic studies (e.g. student may want to include information about relevant personal interests and activities, as well as academic goals, academic distinctions and achievements, career plans and how wildlife resources would benefit from the applicant's contribution)

G) The Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum 80% course load (NOTE* it is understood that a full course load is not available to some Masters candidates. Where it is not offered, this criterion does not apply). Proof of enrollment at the University/College named on the application will be requested prior to issuing the award.

H) The Selections Committee will give more weight to those applicants with a proven record of interest in hunting and fishing and/or intentions of using their education to conserve and enhance fish and wildlife health and habitat.
