Dr. Matthew Steele, a cosmetic surgeon, uses his special skill set to help children across the globe who are born with cleft lips and palates. He travels far and wide on mission trips to provide much needed surgeries for these children. The act of giving one's talent to those who need help is important to Dr Steele, his surgical team, and his family.

For this scholarship, we are asking students to describe a mission you went on, either domestic or international. While we are personally passionate about medical missions, this scholarship is open to any type of mission or service based trip. If you volunteered to build homes, teach children, or help in natural disaster relief please share your story with us.

Please share with us what encouraged you to volunteer your time with a particular mission. Is the type of mission something that influenced your major and how you will use your degree? How did this trip open your eyes and what valuable lessons did you gain from the experience? Are there any areas for improvement, what specifically would you change?

We are looking forward to hearing from students who are passionate about giving back on a local, national, or global scale. Through our Medical Mission Scholarship, we will award $1,000 to one student to use towards furthering their education. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is December 31, 2021.

Thank you for your interest in our Medical Mission Scholarship!
