Family is often defined as parents and children living together under one roof, individuals with a common ancestry, or those grouped together by common characteristics or values. It can also be described as a place where you feel safe, loved for, or a place where you feel a sense of belonging. As being family lawyers, we at The Law Firm of Charles D. Jamieson P.A. understand that families come in all shapes and sizes, and that oftentimes, goes beyond simply being related to one another. That is why we are proud to announce The Law Firm of Charles D. Jamieson, P. A. 2024 Family Scholarship to award one student with $1,000 to help fund their education!
Family and household situations play such a large role in defining who we are as individuals. We want you to share with us what “family” means to you and how your household situation has shaped you to be who you are today. Whether you are in a single parent home, adopted, in a foster home, a household of same sex parents, a traditional household with two parents, or any other non traditional home we want to hear your stories. This scholarship’s purpose is to hear different variations of the word “family”, to listen to your stories, and for the chance to reflect on how your family has shaped you into who you are today.
Scholarship Eligibility:
Applicants for The Law Firm of Charles D. Jamieson, P. A. 2024 Family Scholarship must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or law program within the United States. High school seniors who will be enrolled in college before the application deadline of October 31, 2024 are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must be in good academic standing and have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Application Requirements:
To be considered for this scholarship opportunity, a full application must include:
- An updated resumé listing academic, professional, and volunteer experiences.
- A current or your most recent official or unofficial academic transcript. If you are a high school senior, you must also submit proof of acceptance to your college or university.
- A 750-1,000 word essay explaining what the word “family” means to you. Be sure to explain your household situation and how it has shaped you as an individual.
- Please be advised that all essays will be reviewed to detect any instances of AI-generated writing. If such writing is found, the application will be rejected.
Application Deadline and Instructions:
All scholarship criteria must be submitted either on or before the deadline of October 31, 2024. Applications submitted after the October 31st deadline will not be considered eligible.
