Award eligibility

Only students with a valid Social Security number, or who can prove Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status, are eligible to receive an eCYBERMISSION award. For administration of awards, competition winners must complete the Team Validation process, which involves providing the Social Security number for each student on the winning team (which is kept confidential). Parents/Guardians must open a TreasuryDirect account and a minor-linked TreasuryDirect account which are required to distribute awards. eCYBERMISSION awards are distributed via U.S. EE Savings Bond through TreasuryDirect for the U.S. Department of Treasury.
