The Pay it Forward Scholarship asks that each applicant writes an approximately 750-word essay that articulates the importance of service and volunteerism. The essay should describe how the applicant strives to embody the phrase, "Do unto others as they would do unto you." The student who produces the best essay will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
Tim Miley, owner of The Miley Legal Group, is a proud supporter of local organizations that give back to the West Virginia community. In addition to his passion for helping accident victims and their families, Tim serves as the Minority Leader in the House of Delegates for the state of West Virginia, and he is eager to read essays from students all over the country about how the next generation of leaders are paying it forward.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university. We also welcome applications from high school seniors or soon-to-be GED graduates who are already enrolled in a university or a college program. Students must show good academic standing by holding a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recipient of this scholarship will have an eloquently written essay and will meet application requirements.
