Sandy Lane Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to reward outstanding LGBTQ students and straight allies, to encourage them to continue and complete post-secondary education, and to promote a positive image of LGBTQ youth.
ELIGIBILITY:
A) Must be a self identified member of the LGBTQ community or a proven ally.
B) Must have applied for admission to an accredited post-secondary or vocational institution.
C) Must be a Georgia resident of one of the communities of the North Georgia Mountains at the time of scholarship application. Eligible counties include: Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Towns, Union and White.
D) Must submit a completed Sandy Lane Scholarship application form along with required supporting materials by the official application submission deadline stated herein.
E) Must have satisfied the high school graduation requirements of the Georgia Department of Education.
F) The recipient of scholarship must be willing to participate and speak at any scholarship events sponsored by PFLAG Blairsville.
