Since 1999, LANL Foundation in parternship with the Los Alamos Employees' Scholarship Fund (LAESF) has had the privilege of awarding scholarships to amazing students from Northern New Mexico. These students have worked hard in and out of the classroom to become well-rounded individuals with a shared commitment to academic achievement, leadership and service.
Funding Diverse Career Opportunities
Scholarships support Northern New Mexico students in all fields of study, not just STEM, to attend local and out-of-state colleges and universities.
Some awards highlight specific qualifications such as:
A) Science, technology, engineering, and math degrees
B) Teaching degrees
C) First-generation college students
D) Native American students
E) Native Americans pursuing business degrees
F) Outstanding leadership and merit
G) Higher financial need
H) Resiliency and determination
I) Residency in certain communities
J) Students pursuing 2-year degrees or certifications
By receiving a scholarship from the LANL Foundation, students are welcomed into a community of LANL Scholars, alumni and supporters. Through generous contributions to the Los Alamos Employees Scholarships Fund, Los Alamos National Laboratory Employees, contractors, and retirees, along with local businesses and community members have built a sustainable scholarship fund that makes educational opportunities available to hopeful students, many of whom may not have the money, support, or encouragement to attend college.
