Dr. John Barras is pleased to announce that Dentistry by John Barras DDS, located in Houston, Texas, will be offering a $1,000 scholarship for people who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD or autism). The scholarship will be used to cover a portion of the tuition at the educational institution chosen by the winning applicant. The aim of the program is to encourage and assist those with autism to fulfill their educational goals.

Education and Autism

ASD includes conditions that can have a profound effect not only upon the education of individuals, but on the conduct of their daily lives. Because autism tends to have a major impact on education, Dr. Barras as well as the other dentists and staff at the office are hopeful that the offering of this scholarship will serve as an incentive to continue their education.
