The Michigan Pork Producers Association awards over $3000 annually in scholarships to high school seniors, college freshman, sophomore or junior students. There are two scholarships available, the IAT Swine Management Scholarship for those pursuing or currently in Michigan State's Swine Tech program and the Michigan Pork Industry Scholarship for those pursuing or currently in a Bachelors program at any college.The interviews take place on January 26, 2019 at the Green and White show held at the MSU Pavilion in East Lansing.
A) Participants must be currently high school seniors pursuing a Baccalaureate degree or currently enrolled in college where they have attained freshman, sophomore or junior class status. College seniors graduating during the year the award is given are not eligible to participate.
B) Participants or their families need not be members of Michigan Pork Producers Association (MPPA) or be actively involved in pork production, but they should have a demonstrated interest in the future of the pork industry.
C) A youth may participate and earn scholarships more than once, but may earn the top award and national experience only one time.
