Each year, NCPC awards $1,000 scholarships to two deserving North Carolina agriculture students.
To be eligible, an applicant must be an undergraduate or incoming freshman at either the community college or university level with preference given to students attending a community college or university within the state of North Carolina. The applicant must also be enrolled as a full-time student in an agricultural curriculum of study.
Students who have a strong desire to remain active in the swine production industry after graduation; who are actively engaged in swine production; or an applicant whose parents or other family members are actively engaged in the North Carolina swine industry will be given preference by the selection committee.
Past NCPC scholarship recipients are eligible to re-apply on a yearly basis.
All required information, including letters of recommendation, transcripts and a recent headshot must be submitted to NCPC by April 15, 2020.
A minimum GPA of 2.8 (unweighted) is required. An official transcript must accompany the application. Transcripts will be reviewed for GPA eligibility. Along with high school and/or college grades, the GPA will be considered in the scholarship selection process.
The NCPC internship/scholarship committee, consisting of NC Pork Council members, is responsible for the review of all applications and selection of scholarship recipients.
