Abe Hatcher Agriculture and Music Memorial Young Farmer Scholarships

The Abe Hatcher Family and the Tennessee Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers are announcing the annual Abe Hatcher Agriculture and Music Memorial Scholarship to a college sophomore, junior or senior. Two scholarships will be awarded in the Agriculture Memorial Scholarship and one awarded in the Music Memorial scholarship on July 20, 2024 at the Tennessee Young Farmers Conference Banquet. Each scholarship is for $1,500 for the year 2024-25. The three scholarship recipients must be present at the Young Farmer Conference in order to receive the scholarship. The deadline to submit your application is June 1, 2024.

Students attending the following universities are eligible for both scholarships:

  • University of Tennessee – Knoxville
  • University of Tennessee – Martin
  • Middle Tennessee State University
  • Tennessee Tech University
  • Austin Peay University
  • Tennessee State University

*Students attending Belmont University are eligible for the music scholarship.

We will notify the three scholarship recipients and invite them to attend the Tennessee Young Farmers Conference in Lebanon in July.

THE ABE HATCHER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

  • Must be a Tennessee Resident
  • Must be an Agriculture Major
  • College Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • Must have a Farm Bureau Family Membership
  • Leadership Activities in High School & College
  • Demonstrate adequate scholarship achievements.
  • Financial need is a consideration in judging.
  • No Farm Bureau employees, agents, or board members dependents are eligible.

Students must be attending the following universities:

  • University of Tennessee-Knoxville
  • University of Tennessee-Martin
  • Middle Tennessee State University
  • Tennessee Tech University
  • Austin Peay State University
  • Tennessee State University

If selected, you must be present at the Young Farmer Conference in Lebanon, TN on July 22, 2023 to receive the scholarship.

The application must be submitted online by June 1, 2024 with all required documentations attached. The guidelines and online application are posted on the TN Farm Bureau Website at www.tnfarmbureau.org/scholarships.

These are recommended guidelines and the scholarship committee will determine the final selection of the recipient. You can only receive the scholarship one time.
