Since 1977, the NAFB Foundation has provided financial support and educational opportunities in the form of college scholarships to assist students in pursuit of careers in agricultural communications. More than $608,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
In 2024, the NAFB Foundation is offering multiple $7,500 college scholarships and one $10,000 scholarship. This year’s recipients will be recognized at NAFB Convention this November in Kansas City, and each receives an expense-paid trip to attend the convention as part of the award.
Information & Materials You Will Need
The application requests a wide range of information. Please be prepared to provide the following:
- Current GPA
- Expected graduation date (month & year)
- Sources of financial support (List all financial resources, including student loans, scholarships, grants, or other sources of support. Areas to list additional support will be displayed once you begin filling in the fields.) You must be a junior or senior college student or graduate student to apply.
Personal Statements
Applicants are required to briefly answer two statements: “Describe your plans and career goals upon
graduation” and “Describe what activities have been most meaningful to your personal development.” Please limit each response to 500 words.
Audio Statement
Record an audio statement (up to two minutes) and describe your communications experience to date (i.e. writing, editing, radio announcing, public speaking, leadership positions, etc.) and briefly explain your reasons for choosing a career in agriculture communications along with your long-term career goals. This file should be saved as an mp3 file.

- Official transcript
- Three letters of reference (Letters may be academic, personal, and/or leadership references.)
- Photograph (Photo will be used to profile scholarship recipients. Please make sure it is high-resolution in JPG or PNG format.)
