Beaufort County Farm Bureau Scholarship: One $1000 scholarship

Applicants must be a Beaufort County Farm Bureau member,

Must be a high school senior with a 2.5 GPA of a 4.0 system planning to pursue a degree in agriculture or an ag-related major

A scholarship of $1000 will be awarded annually by the Beaufort County Farm Bureau to a qualified student pursuing a degree in agriculture or an agricultural related major.

The purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to young people of Beaufort County Farm Bureau member families who are dedicated to agriculture or related fields.

Another goal is that this scholarship will encourage young people to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to assume positions of leadership in agriculture, civic affairs and public service.

Eligibility:

1. Applicants must belong to a Beaufort County Farm Bureau member family. (For information regarding membership, contact the county office at 522-0031)

2. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating high school senior or a college student enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies in an agricultural or ag-related major. This scholarship may be renewed for one or more years upon re-application and approval. The scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s tuition, books and lab fee at an accredited two or four-year college or graduate institution.

3. A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 system should be maintained in order to qualify for this scholarship; therefore, a certified copy of the applicant’s last transcript must be included with the attached application.

This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character, demonstrated leadership abilities and dedication to agriculture or to related fields. The recipient will be selected by a committee, of another South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation county in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Beaufort county Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Only applicants who meet the criteria for the program will be selected. In all cases of selection, the decision of the committee will be final.

The Beaufort County Farm Bureau Board of Directors reserves the right to amend or add to these guidelines
