The BP Process Technology Scholarship supports training for students who are interested in a career in Process Technology. An A.A.S degree in Process Technology prepares you for employment as an operations technician in the process industry. The program appeals to people who enjoy the challenges of using advanced computer technology and instrumentation to operate a variety of equipment systems and industrial processes. Process technology is defined as the study and application of the scientific principles associated with the operation and maintenance of the chemical processing industry.
General Scholarship Information
A) Applicants must be an Alaska resident.
B) This scholarship is for students who are intending to enroll or currently enrolled in the Process Technology two-year degree program offered at Kenai Peninsula College or the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College.
C) Scholarship retention will be evaluated following each semester and funding is based on student performance at the award levels listed below.
D) Students have up to three years to complete the Process Technology degree program.
E) The maximum funding level of any scholarship is a maximum of $2,500 per semester and $10,000 total.
F) The funding level for recipients per semester depends on the number of required Process Technology degree credits enrolled in.
G) While BP offers other scholarships, each student may only receive one BP Scholarship.
