Public Relations Student Society Scholarships

PRSA Foundation invests in the next generation of public relations practitioners by awarding scholarships and grants to students active in PRSSA campus chapters, as well as other deserving undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. and around the world.

FOR PRSSA STUDENTS

Altschul Champions for PRSSA Outstanding Internship Award:

For outstanding academic achievement and success in a public relations internship. Winners receive a $300 award. Open to undergraduate PRSSA students, the award is based on faculty recommendations and an essay. Learn more.

Betsy Plank/PRSSA Scholarships:

Presented annually in honor of past PRSA President, Betsy Plank, to PRSSA members in their junior or senior years. Three awards totaling $7,500 are given to students who are selected based on their commitment and leadership in PRSSA and the public relations profession. Learn more.

David Imre Scholarship:

This scholarship awards rising juniors and seniors in the state of Maryland who are PRSSA members for their public relations experience, commitment to inclusive environments, and mentoring capabilities. Learn more.

National Gold Key:

The National Gold Key honors the outstanding public relations student and leader. Winners are those who excel in their academic study of public relations, have pursued ambitious professional development opportunities and are leaders in their PRSSA Chapter. Learn more.

Robin M. Urbanski Memorial Scholarship:

This $1,000 scholarship is designed to honor a student for their mentoring of others and their commitment to public relations. Learn more.

Ron Culp Scholarship for Mentorship:

A $1,000 annual scholarship for recognition of outstanding academic achievement. Awarded to a junior or senior enrolled in a college or university journalism, mass communications and/or public relations undergraduate program. Learn more.

Stephen D. Pisinski Memorial Scholarship:

A $2,000 annual scholarship for recognition Of outstanding academic achievement. Awarded to a junior or senior PRSSA member enrolled in a college or university journalism, mass communications and/or public relations undergraduate program. Learn more.

PRSA College of Fellows Certificate in Principles of Public Relations Grant:

PRSSA members and recent graduates will be awarded a grant cover the cost of the Certificate in Principles of Public Relations study course and examination. Learn more.

PRSSA ICON Travel Grant:

Up to 12 multicultural students will be awarded up to $2,000 each to attend the 2026 PRSSA International Conference.  Application.

AGEAN Public Relations Fellowship:

Sponsored by AGEAN Public Relations, this fellowship awards a $2,500 scholarship and 5-week paid remote internship to a BIPOC identified student who is pursuing a career in public relations. Learn more.

Axia Public Relations Scholarship:

Sponsored by Axia Public Relations, this $2,000 scholarship awards students who demonstrate a passion for public relations as well as a dedication to professional ethics and excellence. Learn more.

Chester Burger Scholarship for Excellence in Public Relations:

A $1,000 award recognizing outstanding academic achievement for graduate students in public relations. Selection based on an essay describing the alignment of corporate goals with the public interest. Learn more.

Eva Irving Student PRSSA International Conference Grant:

Founded by the PRSA San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter, this grant supports college students in San Diego and Imperial Counties who are underrepresented in the communications industry, currently majoring in and/or planning to pursue careers in public relations, marketing, communications, social media or related fields to attend the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) International Conference. EvolveMKD Fellowship:

Sponsored by EvolveMKD, this fellowship awards a $5,500 scholarship and 12-week full-time paid internship in New York, NY to a BIPOC identified student, first-generation college student, or student who identifies as a member of an underrepresented group or historically marginalized community who is pursuing a career in public relations. Geoffrey M. Curtis Scholarship:

Established in 2023, the Geoffrey M. Curtis Scholarship awards three rising junior or senior undergraduate first-generation college students who are pursuing a career in public relations, journalism, or communications with a $10,000 scholarship. Learn more.

Sponsored by Greenough Communications, this fellowship will award one BIPOC identified student annually who is pursuing a major or minor in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications with a $3,500 scholarship and a paid eight-week internship with Greenough Communications in Boston, MA. Hannah Cranston Media Fellowship:

The Hannah Cranston Media Fellowship will award one student annually who is pursuing a major in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field with a $3,000 scholarship and a paid twelve-week part-time internship with Hannah Cranston Media in New York, NY. Learn more.

Hirsch Leatherwood Fellowship:

The Hirsch Leatherwood Fellowship will award one student annually who is pursuing a major in political science, English, or humanities with a $2,500 scholarship and a paid eight-week part-time internship with Hirsch Leatherwood in New York, NY. Learn more.

The Key PR Fellowship:

The Key PR Fellowship will award one BIPOC identified or first-generation college student annually who is pursuing a major in public relations, marketing, or communications with a $10,000 scholarship, $4,000 stipend, and a paid eight-week internship with The Key PR in San Francisco, CA. Kite Hill Fellowship:

The Kite Hill Fellowship will award one student annually who is pursuing a major or minor in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications with a $1,500 scholarship and a paid three-month internship with Kite Hill in Miami, FL or New York, NY. Learn more.

Sponsored by LaunchSquad, this fellowship will award one BIPOC identified student annually who is pursuing a career in journalism, public relations, marketing & communications with a $15,000 scholarship, a $4,000 stipend, and a paid eight-week internship with LaunchSquad.  Learn more.

May C. Randazzo Memorial Scholarship:

The Buffalo Niagara Chapter of PRSA established this $2,000 scholarship to honor college students who best demonstrate the ideals May C. Randazzo believed were the keys to the future of the public relations profession: leadership, community service, and scholastic achievement. Learn more.

Mission North Fellowship:

Sponsored by Mission North, this fellowship will award one BIPOC identified student annually who is pursuing a career in PR focusing on tech communications, science communications, or digital marketing & design with a $32,000 scholarship, a $6,000 stipend, and a paid twelve-week internship with Mission North in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. Ofield Dukes Multicultural Student Award:

A $1,000 scholarship awarded each year to a minority undergraduate student who best demonstrates the commitment to service and social responsibility that Ofield Dukes personified. Learn more.

PRSA Diversity Multicultural Scholarship:

Recognizes young adults for outstanding academic achievement and commitment to the practice of public relations. This essay competition awards $1,500 scholarships to two minority students. Learn more.

PRSA Houston Scholarships:

The PRSA Houston Scholarship Program awards various scholarships. Applicants can be a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student. All scholarship applicants must be pursuing a degree in public relations or related fields and either must be from the southeast Texas Region or be attending a southeast Texas-area college/university. PRSA Memphis Scholarship:

The PRSA Memphis Scholarship awards $500 to a full-time student who is pursuing a degree in public relations or a related field and attends an eligible college/university in Mississippi or Tennessee. Learn more.

PRSA Puget Sound Scholarships:

Two $4,000 scholarships, the Horace and Susie Revels Cayton Scholarship and Sally Heet Memorial Scholarship, are awarded each year to Washington state college/university students pursuing careers in public relations. Learn more.

PRSA Silicon Valley Diversity and Multicultural Scholarship:

A $2,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a minority student from the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay Area who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement and commitment to the practice of public relations. Learn more.

Scout Lab Fellowship:

The Scout Lab Fellowship will award one student annually who one student annually who is pursuing a career in public relations or communications with a $2,500 scholarship and a three-month part-time paid remote internship with Scout Lab. Learn more.

The Scout Lab Fellowship will award one BIPOC-identified or LGBTQ-identified student annually who one student annually who is pursuing career in public relations or communications with a $5,000 scholarship and a thirteen-week full-time paid internship with SolComms in New York, NY. Learn more.

The V2 Communications Fellowship will award one BIPOC identified student annually who is pursuing a major in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, digital marketing & design, or tech marketing with a $2,500 scholarship and a paid full-time eight-week internship with V2 Communications in Boston, MA.
