25th Infantry Division Association Educational Scholarship Award Criteria
Individual scholarships from the 25th Infantry Division Association may be made annually with Association Scholarship funds to provide financial assistance to the most deserving applicants.
An applicant must be:
- A child or grandchild of an active member of the Association for at least 12 months prior to the application.
- A son or a daughter of a former member of the Division, deceased during active combat with Division or as a result thereof.
Criteria for the application:
- Applications must be postmarked by March 13, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.
- Applicants must be enrolled in or enrolling in a college, university, or trade school for a minimum of 12 semester hours per semester.
- Applications must be complete to be considered. A complete application must include the following items:
- A personal letter from the applicant describing future goals, the need for financial support, and school and community activities. Be sure to include any activities related to the military.
- A transcript of high school credits through the first semester of the senior year to include rank in class. If the applicant is in the second or later years of an undergraduate program or trade school, a transcript of post-high school must be submitted.
- A letter of acceptance from the institution selected by the applicant (or a list of pending applications – awards will not be made until acceptance is verified.)
- Two letters of recommendation. One must be from a recognized, reputable community citizen. The second must be from an individual with whom you have frequent contact such as a teacher, coach, pastor or school administrator. These letters should address your commitment to and passion for your goals.
- A full-face head and shoulder color photograph of the applicant. Not larger than 3×4 inches. This photo will not be used during the application review process, but for Association publicity for award winners.
- A copy of the applicant’s parent’s or grandparent’s DD-214 or other documentary evidence of the service in the U.S. Army and in the 25th Infantry Division.
- Applications will be evaluated during March by the Scholarship Committee which will forward its recommendations to the Association Executive Committee for consideration. The Executive Committee will make the determination of scholarship awards and will notify the Association President who will notify award winners before the end of the school year.
