The Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation is sponsoring over 50 scholarships to further the post secondary education of Navy dependents from the aviation community. Most scholarships are $4,200 and some are renewable. Scholarships can only be used for tuition charged by the college. This is for undergraduate work only and Reserve Officer Candidate Programs (full scholarship students including service academies) or any other full scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Are you eligible for a WOASF Scholarship?

A) Are you a high school senior or already enrolled in College or Trade/Technical School?

B) Are you pursuing your first A.A., A.S., B.A or B.S. or Technical Certification?

C) Are you a Navy Dependent?

D) Has your sponsor served a minimum of 6-8 years in Naval Aviation - squadrons, carriers, air stations?

STEP I: THE PRE-QUALIFICATION

This requires students to pre-qualify for scholarship eligibility before submitting an application. The purpose of this pre-qualification screening is to establish eligibility based on the applicant's dependent status and the applicant's sponsor's service. This must be submitted electronically by the deadline date of February 1st; no paper submissions will be accepted.

STEP II: THE APPLICATION

Once an applicant is approved, they are provided an applicant ID and can complete the application portion of the scholarship process. This will include academic information (transcripts), two recommendations (using our online form), two essays, and information on Activities/Community Service/Work Experience. The application and supporting documents are submitted electronically (except transcripts) by the deadline date of March 1st. Transcripts may be mailed but must be postmarked by March 1st.
