Each year LAND offers scholarships to aid and encourage students to pursue careers in dietetics.
Applicants must:
- View the list of available scholarships below paying careful attention to eligibility criteria, deadlines, and required application materials
- Complete the linked application form in its entirety to be considered for the scholarship
- Confirm all required application materials are received by the deadlines noted for the scholarship
- Ensure transcripts and all letters of recommendation are submitted to LAND as requested
- Request each letter of recommendation to include the following information: Applicant’s full name – Name of the scholarship applicant is applying for – Capacity in which applicant is known by referee – Length of time in which applicant is known by referee – Applicant’s potential as a student, professional, and leader – Applicant’s personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses – Applicant’s need for the scholarship – Any other special considerations the Scholarship Committee should be aware of for the applicant
- Ensure the personal letter submitted with the application form answers the following prompts: – Why are you in need of a scholarship from LAND? – What do you plan to do with your degree after graduation? – What interests you most about the dietetics profession?
It is the applicant’s duty to ensure complete applications are submitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Undergraduate Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to two outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited undergraduate college or university dietetics or nutrition program in the state of Louisiana. Up to two $500 scholarships may be awarded.
Eligibility - must be a current LAND student member for the 2024-2025 school year.

- Most recent college transcript or unofficial transcript uploaded in application or emailed directly from college or university email address to LAND@eatrightlouisiana.org
- Two (2) letters of recommendation uploaded in application or emailed directly from referees noted below

- Any Non-Relative Individual
Graduate Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to two outstanding graduate students enrolled in an accredited graduate college or university dietetics or nutrition program in the state of Louisiana. Up to two $500 scholarships may be awarded.
Eligibility - must be a current LAND student member for the 2025-2026 school year.

Irene Toliver Pyburn Merit Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is presented to the most outstanding dietetics intern in the state.
Eligibility - Must be formally accepted into an internship or supervised practice program in the state of Louisiana before receiving the scholarship.
