All candidates must be high school graduating students who have maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and who will attend a Louisiana university, community college, or technical school.
Note: If awarded, student must be full time and maintain twelve (12) hours or more and at least a 3.0 GPA per semester to retain the scholarship.
The following information is required for initial application:
A) An official application form. Photocopies are acceptable.
B) An official transcript of all high school records.
C) A current appropriate picture.
D) All required signature pages.
E) Copy SAT/ACT test scores.
F) Two completed reference letters – please have person writing reference enclose in sealed envelope and sign back of the envelope for return.
The Board of Trustees has the sole authority for awarding scholarships. The scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of (in no particular order):
A) Scholastic achievement of at least 3.0 GPA
B) Extracurricular activities which demonstrate Leadership
C) Financial need
E) Awards and honors
F) Community involvement
G) Employment or volunteer experience
H) Unique life experiences
All applicants selected as finalists may be subject to a personal interview with representatives of the Board of Trustees. Finalists will be notified prior to March 1st.
This Scholarship will be awarded without consideration of race, sex, age, religion, color or national origin.
All selections are considered final. All applications and attachments become the property of the JonCade Thomas Clemons Memorial Scholarship Fund.
