The Harvey L. Foster Foundation (HLFF) Scholarship was started in 2009 and awards one or more scholarships for an academic year of up to $1000 per semester. The scholarship lasts a maximum of four years, awarding up to $8000 to deserving and continually qualifying students.
The criterion for scholarship candidacy is outlined below:
A) Educational Level. Must be an incoming freshman at an American University.
B) Educational Objective Criteria. Must pursue a degree in a science field.
C) Enrollment Status. Must be enrolled full time (12 plus hours) every semester.
D) Residency requirement. Must be graduating from a high school located in either:
St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Livingston, or Washington parish.
E) Grade Point Average. Must have a 3.0 or higher.
F) Completed Application. Submitted in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, 12 pt font.
G) College Entrance Exam Scores. ACT and/or SAT score required. If you have not received your score by January 31, 2019 you will not be eligible. Include a copy of the score.
H) High School Transcript. Required.
I) Recommendations. Required. These should be mailed or emailed directly to the Foundation.
J) All applications must be submitted to the Foundation no later than January 31, 2019.
