The Chassis Plans Leadership in Engineering Scholarship is awarded twice each year to one full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or Master’s degree in engineering.
Undergraduate engineering programs are those offering a bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in engineering.
All scholarship winners receive a non-renewable scholarship of $1,500.
The Chassis Plans’ Leadership in Engineering Scholarship was founded to assist future engineers in pursuing their degree in an effort to continue America’s leadership in innovation. As an engineering-centric company providing rugged computing solutions to industry and the military, we recognize that today’s engineering students will be the driving force for continued leadership in the future.
ESSAY
Prepare an essay of 1,000 to 1,500 words (typed, double-spaced) about one of the following topics:
A) As technology advances, new sub-disciplines of engineering emerge. What do you see as the next new major type of engineering?
B) How could engineering education be improved to produce the best engineers possible?
C) The FAA is limiting use of UAVs (drones) in US airspace. What are the ramifications of limiting this technology?
D) Besides personal photos and videos, what could a UAV be used for in domestic airspace?
Essays must be typed and included with the completed application.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
A) Enrolled full-time in an engineering program working toward a bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
B) Hold US citizenship.
C) Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
D) Must have completed the equivalent of two years of full-time college study by the time the scholarship is funded.
E) Submit typed (double-spaced) essay answering one of the posed questions.
