Program Description: Scholarship will be made annually to a student who is the dependent child of a home-office employee of Edward D. Jones & Co., LP. Recipients will demonstrate academic strength and financial need at a nationally accredited two-year or four-year college or university, and may apply for renewal of the award for three additional undergraduate years. Children of general partners of the parent company, The Jones Financial Companies, LLLP, may not apply for consideration.
Eligibility Criteria:
Cumulative 3.0 grade point average on a four point scale, or the equivalent
College preparatory academic record and potential for success
Demonstrated financial need at an eligible college or university
Full time enrollment at an eligible public two-year or four-year college, university or technical college
Selection Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their: application; extracurricular involvement, including work, that demonstrates responsibility and leadership; essay that demonstrates strength of character and an attitude that will lead to success; two letters of reference - one from a teacher, one from a supervisor or another teacher; transcript and standardized test results that demonstrate past success and potential for future success.
Financial need will be evaluated based on information provided by the student, family, and college, including application, FAFSA Student Aid Report, and Financial Aid award letter from the college the student will attend.
